Some children learn better in a small, personalised group setting, where more focus can be given to the gaps in their learning. At TopUp Education, we offer fun, engaging, tailor-made lessons to meet all pupil's individual needs. Each child receives a high level of 1:1 support from a qualified teacher who helps to ensure they excel academically. All our staff are friendly and approachable and through regular verbal feedback children's confidence in their own academic abilities grow.
Experienced Professionals
The staff at TopUp Education are all UK trained and qualified teachers. As trained professionals, we understand the importance of identifying each child's learning style and adapting our teaching techniques to suit each learner.
Homework Support
Students can use their lesson time as an opportunity to get support with their school homework (if requested). Staff at TopUp Education, will explain the homework and show the student a range of strategies that can support them to overcome barriers, bringing concrete results.
Group Sizes
Our students work in small groups with a maximum ratio of 1:10. This allows us to foster and encourage independent learning whilst still offering a high level of 1:1 support. The groups take place in a classroom setting which replicates their school classroom. Students are grouped according to age and ability.
Short & Focused Lessons
All our lessons are 1 hour long and are planned to incorporate reteaching of misconceptions that come to light after baseline testing. Teaching of new content, practise of this content and recapping of previous learning through quizzes. This ensures that what we teach is committed to the student's long term memory.

TopUp Education is a company founded by two teachers who are passionate about education. We firmly believe that every child should achieve regardless of social class or background. We started our company to offer affordable lessons for those who may not be able to afford the cost of private tuition. It is our belief that all children have an innate desire to learn, we want to find that desire, nurturing it to grow.
There are lots of tutoring companies on the market who offer extra tuition. We truly believe that we are offering something different and innovative through lessons mapped to the National Curriculum. Lessons which are designed and delivered by teachers taking into account all the latest pedagogical research which shows us how children learn successfully and how to increase their cognitive ability.

Our Expertise
For primary aged children, we excel at preparing students for 7+ and 11+ exams, along with SATs.
For secondary school students, we focus on GCSE revision (all exam boards) and KS3 catch up lessons.

Learning English is a lifelong skill which will better aid you to communicate effectively. We offer English literature, language and reading comprehension skills mapped to the GCSE specifications.

You need a good understanding of the English language in order to aim high. Deepen your understanding and improve your learning strategies to convert your knowledge into top grades.
